Bethany Lutheran Church is hosting a pickleball tournament on Saturday, September 28 at Noelridge Park Pickleball Courts (4300 Council St. NE). LCMS church members and their friends are invited. Join us for a day of fun Lutheran fellowship! The tournament will start at 9:00 a.m.

Fee: Free of charge!

Also: Children are welcome to play on any available courts with Pickleball equipment

What to Bring

Format

First team to 11 wins (win by 1)
Players referee own game (honor rule)
Three divisions - Mixed or same gender (please indicate ability level when you sign up)
- Beginner - Understands rules and can hit simple shots. Somewhat limited in rallies due to hitting the ball into the net or missing it.
- Intermediate - Sustains short rallies and demonstrates basic shot strokes of forehand, backhand, volley, overhead, and serve.
- Advanced - Good stroke consistency with directional control on most medium-paced and some faster-paced balls. Anticipates opponent shots and understands the importance of strategy.
Rotating partners - Each player is grouped with three others to make a foursome within their division. Those four people play three games, switching to a new partner (within the foursome) each game. At the end of the third game, each individual will have partnered with the other three.
The Finals - After all games in the division are played, the top four individuals are selected based upon the total number of points their teams scored in each of the three games they played. Those top four individuals then play in the Finals for three games (rotating partners).
